Q: When did it start?
The first commit is from Apr 20, 2015. Things moved slowly for
several years because I was working on other projects and I had
a very primitive development environment. Programs could not exit,
meaning an "edit, assemble, execute" cycle took three reboots.
My pace increased a bit after the programs could terminate, and it
increased even more after I finished my first language compiler.
Q: Is it Linux?
No.
Q: Is it POSIX?
No.
Q: Is it compatible with a 386?
I'm not sure. The oldest IA-32 machine I have is a PMMX,
and it has bad memory. CPU compatibility is probably the least significant
issue with older machines. I'd worry much more about IDE controllers
and missing BIOS features.
Q: Is it AI-generated?
No. "Thou shalt not make a machine in the likeness of a man's mind"
Q: Does it have a C compiler?
No, and I'm not sure if I'll write one. I have created my own
programming language instead. It is currently primitive but I
have plans to improve it. I hope it will be better than C for
my purposes in time.
Q: Does it support UEFI?
No, because I don't support amd64.
Q: How can I ask a different question?
You can send me an email if you like. Run this hostname through s/os\.//g. My name is Nick.
